City of Pawtucket announces opening of CDBG applications

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) – The City of Pawtucket is now taking applications for The FY 2023 Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
This program has served Pawtucket in the past, helping organizations with grants from $3000 to $25000 to cover costs for projects and materials.
“This grant funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development has continued to help our city and the many organizations in it, particularly during the pandemic as they continue to assist our community,” said Mayor Donald R. Grebien.
Agencies must have a 503 tax exemption status and at least 51%of applicants clientele must have low or moderate income under guidelines by the U.S. Housing and Urban Development. Grant expenses can cover the cost of labor, supplies, and/or materials for agency clients. Agencies that got funding last year must show they can increase the current number of clients, or services in the upcoming year.
The deadline for application submission to the City of Pawtucket Planning and Redevelopment Department is 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday February 22, 2022. For more information on applying, visit the City of Pawtucket Website.
