DCYF Appoints New Temporary Director

PROVIDENCE, RI (WLNE) – DCYF now has a new acting Director while the state continues its search for someone to take the helm permanently.

Kevin Aucoin will start the temporary role on September 7 .

Aucoin has been working with DCYF for 36 years and will be taking over for Former Director Trista Piccola who announced she was stepping down in July.

DCYF has recently come under fire after a report from the Office of the Child Advocate found it was partly responsible for the death of a 9-year-old Warwick girl who was in state care.
