PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- According to multiple reports, a snow-covered bridge in Pittsburgh has collapsed Friday morning.

Vehicles and a commuter bus are seen on the Forbes Ave. bridge over Frick Park that collapsed just after 6.a.m.

“Thank God that school buses were delayed due to weather, so there was less traffic than normal. Thank God there have been no casualties reported at this point. I wish all of those who were injured a safe and swift recovery,” said Pennsylvania Lt. Governor John Fetterman in a statement.

Red Cross has been contacted for victim assistance, according to a tweet from Pittsburgh Public Safety.

Three people were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and USAR has been deployed to ensure there are no victims under the collapsed bridge.

Public safety also noted that there is a strong smell of natural gas in the area.

A Pittsburgh resident who lives in the area shared photos with ABC6.

This is just before Biden heads to the city Friday to discuss his infrastructure plans.

“Our roads and bridges, which are supposed to connect us and bring us together, are increasingly putting us in danger.  We need to make use of the legislation President Biden ushered in, rebuild our roads and bridges, and fix our faulty infrastructure,” says Fetterman.

This is a developing story, check back for updates.
