SWAMPSCOTT, Mass. (AP) _ Massachusetts State Police say a large tree branch fell on a cruiser on security duty outside the home of Gov. Charlie Baker.

Police said the trooper inside the car wasn’t hurt when the branch fell at about 8:30 p.m. Friday.

The governor wasn’t at his home in Swampscott, on Boston’s North Shore.

The tree broke the cruiser’s rear window and dented the roof before coming to rest in the street.

The tree is on town property between the street and the sidewalk.

The road was briefly closed while town workers removed the branch.
