The Department of Environmental Management (DEM) has issued an unhealthy air quality alert for Tuesday.
DEM predicts the air quality will reach an unhealthy level September 8th from noon into the evening throughout the state.
This can be caused by the elevated ground level ozone concentrations and can cause people to experience a soar throat, chest pain, coughing, shortness of breath and other respiratory issues.
DEM recommends people limit strenuous outdoor activity during these hours.
Everyone can help reduce the emissions by limiting the use of vehicles, lawn mowers, charcoal lighter fuel and small engines.
