Former Taunton teacher sentenced on child rape charges

A former Taunton 8th grade teacher who pleaded guilty to having sex with two 14-year-old students has been sentenced.

36-year-old Patrick Doyle, of Seekonk, was sentenced to five years in prison this morning followed by five years probation.

Doyle was charged with two counts of child rape and two counts of disseminating harmful material to a minor.

Doyle will also have to register as a sex offender and his probation includes a requirement banning unsupervised visits with any children except his daughter.
