Bulls Shut Out PawSox To Earn Series Split

(Durham, NC) – The Durham Bulls held the Pawtucket Red Sox to four hits and grabbed the series finale, 3-0, Sunday afternoon at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The PawSox split the four-game set with Durham.
Bulls righty Dylan Floro (8-9) snapped a five-game losing streak, firing six scoreless innings; he allowed just two hits, walked none and struck out six. Floro earned his first win since June 12th.
Zeke Spruill (4-5) was solid in his first start since July 2nd. He allowed two runs over five innings but suffered the loss for Pawtucket (41-54).
Durham (49-45) took a 1-0 lead in the third inning off Spruill. Hak-Ju Lee began the rally with a bunt-single, stole second base, and scored on a single by Boog Powell.
Nick Franklin led off the fifth inning with a solo-homer to right field, his fifth of the season, giving Durham a 2-0 lead. The Bulls continued the home run ball in the sixth on J.P. Arencibia's solo-homer to center off Edwin Escobar.Durham's bullpen yielded just two hits over 3 IP with Kirby Yates locking down his third save of the season.
The PawSox had four hits: singles from Quintin Berry, Rusney Castillo, Allen Craig and Travis Shaw.
The Southern Swing continues for the PawSox as they open up a four-game series on Monday night in Norfolk against the Tides. Pawtucket's starter will be announced on Monday. Norfolk's righty Chris Jones (5-4, 2.70) makes his 21stappearance of the season. Pregame coverage begins on WHJJ and online at 6:50.
