Jasiel Correia sees prison surrender date pushed back one day to February 14

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE)- Jasiel Correia will once again see extra time before he reports to prison, adding one more day to his surrender date.
Corriea, the former mayor of Fall River, was set to originally report to prison on December 3, the first motion for extension was agreed upon and changed to January 10.
Due to a surge in COVID cases, Correia was granted another extension, due to report to prison on January 28.
As that date came closer Correia was granted a third extension which brought his surrender date to February 13.
Due to the Bureau of Prisons notifying the court that “they can not accommodate a self-surrender on the weekend”, Correia will now report to prison on February 14.
