A new study names West Kingston, RI as one of the nation's top small market cities for advanced manufacturing companies.

The company that conducted the study credits the town's large industrial space, its close drive to Boston and Providence, and recent moves by Governor Raimondo to make the area more attractive to manufacturing facilities.

John Boyd, Jr., of The Boyd Company, says, "Emphasizing workforce training is very, very important…eliminating the sales tax on industrial energy usage is a key site selection initiative the governor wants to do…and that's of course going to make the state more competitive."

Boyd also says Rhode Island's tourism, especially its beaches and cities like Newport and Providence, will attract executives to the area.
