Police arrest suspect in North Smithfield bank robbery

North Smithfield Police have arrested a suspect in a bank robbery Monday morning.
Peter Poirier, 51. of Blackstone, MA, was arrested Monday night at his home.
Police say Poirier robbed the Bank of America on Slatersville Plaza on July 27th shortly after 11 a.m.
Officials did not say how much money was taken or if any injuries were reported.
Poirier will be arraigned as a fugitive from justice in Massachusetts before being charged with 1st degree robbery in Rhode Island.
