Friends of woman killed after jumping off Providence Place Mall Garage, speak out

Shannon Tyler and Trudy Oxx had been friends for more than 20 years. Tyler reminisces on the first time they met, it was the second grade on the playground.
"I was being a snob and she set me straight. We've been best friends ever since,"says Tyler.
Last week tyler had to say goodbye to her dear friend, after she jumped off the first floor of the Providence Place parking garage.
According to Providence Police, Oxx was confronted for shop lifting at Nordstroms. She was apparently removing the tags from clothing, and trying to return them for cash. When she was questioned, Police say took off through the parking lot, and leaped over the railing and falling 25 feet to her death. Tyler says this type of behavior does not reflect who Oxx was.
" She was good spirited and had a beautiful, beautiful heart,"Tyler says.
Tyler says most of the comments she has seen about the mother of three, have been negative. She says, "It didn't make her a bad person, it didn't make her an evil person, or definitely did not deserve to loose her life which are some of the things that have been said."
Because of these hurtful comments, Tyler felt compelled to speak up for her friend.
"I just want people to realize everybody has faults and nothing that she did was being a violent person."
