Earthquake reported in RI early Wednesday morning

An earthquake was reported early Wednesday morning in the Providence area.

The United States Geological Survey confirmed a 2.3 magnitude earthquake at 3:43 a.m. that was centered about a mile southeast of Providence. They say it was likely felt within about a 10-mile radius.

Many ABC6 viewers have commented on Facebook that they heard or felt something that woke them up around that time.
