Man arrested for possession of multiple firearms, other weapons

A man was arrested in Johnston after police found he was in illegally in possession of multiple firearms and other weapons.

36-year-old Nicholas Colacone was convicted in 2000 for the manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, a charge that prevented him from possessing firearms.

In his Simmonsville Avenue apartment, police seized two revolvers, two rifles, and one shotgun. Officers also located a number of other weapons, including several long knives, clubs, hammers, a bullet proof vest, brass knuckles, and assorted ammunition. They also found illegal narcotics.

Police say Colacone’s residence was adorned with Nazi, White Supremacist, and Aryan Natino flags and banners.

Colacone is charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of weapons other than a firearm (brass knuckles). He is currently being held at police headquarters and will be arraigned in 3rd District Court in Warwick on Thursday.

The investigation is ongoing.
