Central Falls man charged with possession of stolen firearm

A Central Falls man is facing charges for allegedly being in possession of a stolen firearm after being arrested Thursday afternoon.
20 year old Luis Torres of Central Falls was arrested after police executed a search warrant at 120 Summer Street on July 23rd where they found a Taurus 0.357 Magnum that was reported stolen from a breaking and entering in Pawtucket and 49 rounds of ammunition.
Police also found crack cocaine, marijuana and $792 during the search.
Torres is being charged with Possession of a Stolen Firearm while in the Commission of a Crime and while in Commission of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute and Distribution of a Controlled Substance within a School Zone.
Torres was arraigned at the Sixth District Court in Providence and held without bail at the ACI. He is scheduled to appear in court for a hearing on August 8th.
