Dog missing following rollover crash found unharmed

Six month old Jax the Chihuahua is back at home in Fall River after quite the terrifying ordeal. He was missing for four days after some how escaping, virtually unharmed, from a rollover crash on Route 24 in Freetown over the weekend.
"I'm thinking he was ejected because when the car hit the median, I think when it started rolling he actually flew out the window,” said Ed Medeiros.
Medeiros was driving that car. He says despite his own injuries, including a concussion, his biggest concern was finding Jax.
"My heart just dropped pretty much out of my chest I didn't see him anywhere,” said Medeiros.
That night, no one could find him. But, in the hours and days that followed social media helped spread the word. In fact a post on the Freetown Animal Control's Facebook page was shared more than a thousand times. And, several people began reporting sightings.
"About 10 o'clock in the morning we got a call that he was spotted on route 24 northbound,” said Cherie Botelho.
Numerous attempts to grab Jax were unsuccessful… until Wednesday that is.
Medeiros says with the help of his bed an animal control officer was finally able to grab Jax.
"It was a really happy crazy moment,” said Botelho.
"Elation. I mean if you take all the words, all the adjectives that you can think of that mean incredible happiness and put them all together you might come close to how I felt,” said Medeiros.
Jax was dehydrated and covered in ticks, but besides that we’re told he is doing great.
