The NTSB has released their preliminary report on the deadly Plainville plane crash last month.
The report backed up initial findings that there was a hole in the crankcase of the engine.
It also states that two additional holes were found in a cylinder connecting rod in the engine.
The one page report also details the pilot’s efforts to land on a nearby highway without engine power.
Witness statements about what they heard before the crash are also included in the report including one witness saying they heard a “low moan buzzing sound.”
Dr. Joseph Kalister, his wife Betty and daughter Nicole, all of Knoxville Tennessee were killed in the crash on June 28 after their plane crashed into a home on Bridle Path.
The family of four living in the house escaped without injury.
