A Bristol man was arrested for OUI after allegedly crashing into a utility pole Saturday evening.

46 year old Roger Pratas of Bristol was arrested and is being charged with Operating Under the Influence, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle after police located the vehicle involved on Perryville Road.

The crash occurred on Anawan Street on July 11th shortly before 8 p.m. and officials concluded Pratas was the operator.

Officials say the pole was snapped at the base and on its side with electrical wires hanging out near the roadway.

The road was closed for some hours while workers replaced the utilities.

Pratas was held on $2,500 cash bail and is scheduled to appear in Taunton District Court on July 13th.
