They say a picture is worth a thousand words,a nd patricipants in today's photoshoot for prove that sentiment holds true.
The initiative is meant to include models of differing abilities with traditional models, to show that beauty comes in many different forms.
"This is very important because not only does it lift our folks spirits but it also in the face of advertisers," said Kurt Adler, ReFocus Community Center Coordinator. "This is working to give everyone an equal opportunity."
Re–focus knew they wanted to get involved right away and are challenging local companies like New Balance and Hasbro to follow suit.
"One of the largest markets these companies aren't hitting is adults with disabilities," said Renee Moniz, ReFocus' Marketing Sales Coordinator. "They are consumers and they buy products. They deserve to be represented in marketing just as much as everyone else."
