Man arrested for OUI in Rehoboth

Rehoboth Police arrest a man for OUI after they witness him almost strike a van on Friday.

63 year old Domingo M. Fernandes of Shrewsbury was arrested for OUI after police witnessed him allegedly driving recklessly after receiving a call at 3 p.m. on July 10th about a hit and run motor vehicle accident on Anawan Street.

They say the vehicle hit a curb as it was pulling into an Exxon gas station at the intersection of Routes 44 and 118 then nearly hit a van.

Fernandes is being charged with OUI, fourth offense, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Leaving the Scene of Property Damage and Marked Lanes Violations.

Fernandes was held on $20,000 cash bail and taken to the New Bedford House of Correction. He is scheduled for arraignment on July 13th in the Taunton District Court.
