Patino sentenced to life in prison

A Central Falls man convicted of killing a six-year-old boy was sentenced to life in prison Tuesday.
Michael Patino, 33, was convicted in late April of killing his ex-girlfriends son Marco Nieves in October 2009.
Text messages Patino sent to his ex-girlfriend, Trisha Oliver, reveal that he admitted to hitting the child. Marco died a day a day later due to internal injuries and a hole in his intestine, according to the state medical examiner's office.
