Anti-mandate group, gubernatorial candidate, hold protest in Providence, block roads
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- Dozens of members of an anti-mandate group, as well as a gubernatorial candidate, held a protest in Providence, blocking some of the city’s roads on Saturday afternoon.
Paul Rianna Jr., who is running independently for governor, organized an anti-mandate protest at the Rhode Island State House at 2 p.m.
Rianna and the dozens of protestors then began to walk through the capitol city, blocking off streets along the way.
The group was protesting Gov. Dan McKee, his executive powers, and all mandates, according to a press release sent by Rianna.
This same group held a protest at Providence City Hall earlier this year.
