The company that delivers linens to popular Smithfield restaurant, Faials, arrived to locked door Friday morning.

Customers of the restaurant and employees discovered the closure Wednesday night but were given no explanation. No signs were posted and both the Facebook page and website for Faials were taken down.

Friday, owner Joe Faial tells ABC6 News that the sudden closure was all because of a hiccup in the sale of the restaurants. He says negotiations hit a snag—and not knowing what to do, he shut down.

The original Faials opened back up at 5 p.m. Friday and the Route 44 location is set to reopen Saturday.

Joe and his wife Emily will continue to oversee operations under the new ownership.
