2 men shot, crash their car in Taunton

Police are investigating a shooting in Taunton late Sunday night that sent 2 people to the hospital.

Officers were called out to a motor vehicle accident just after 11:00 p.m. on Hart Street. There were also reports of gunshots in the area.

Police found a car that hade gone off the road and crashed into a yard. Two men were then found on Plain Street with gunshot wounds. Both victims were occupants of the car.

A 27-year-old male was transported to Morton Hospital and a 28-year-old male was transported to Rhode Island Hospital. Both had non life-threatening injuries.

Police say the victim’s car was fired upon from a second car believed to be behind them. Evidence of the shooting was found on Plain Street.

Police say a second vehicle not involved in the incident was struck by a bullet. No one was injured.

The shooting is under investigation.
