Attleboro High School Student Graduates early

Emma DesVergnes has always been an outstanding student with good grades, but her junior year of high school she decided to go above and beyond. She completed enough credits to graduate with a 93.4 grade point average.
“I had to find online classes as a senior, so I could get my senior credits, and then the BCC class counted as a senior credit because it was accounting so it was my math class.” DesVergnes says.
DesVergnes says taking classes from three different institutions made for a packed schedule. She says, “Most of the time it was just homework and school work, whether I was doing homework or just studying. I didn’t want to just graduate and get whatever grade I got, I anted to do good.”
She says graduating early is something she has always wanted to do, her motivation came from her best friend. He always believed in her dream and after he passed away in a car accident, she decided to honor him and follow through.
“He would always tell me how great of a person I am, how well i do, and just always made me feel really good about myself,” She says.
DesVergnes biggest fans, her parents, also stood beside her through it all, even when they were told it couldn’t be done. Being one of 6 children, her support system is large.
“She went to the extremities to get where she’s at and I’m very proud,” says the graduates father Philippe DesVergnes.
“She is everything I ever wanted to be, and more, everything,”says her mother Kristen DesVergnes.
Next year, DesVergne plans to take some time off. She’ll stay with family in Maine and experience things she wouldn’t be able to while attending high school. She hopes her story will inspire others.
She says, “If you have a goal, definitely pursue it, do everything you can, do not give up.”
