Receiver says 3 district fire stations to be sold

COVENTRY, R.I. (AP) _ A Rhode Island fire district is set to sell three of five remaining fire stations in bankruptcy proceedings.
The state-appointed receiver Mark Pfeiffer and staff presented the plan for the Central Coventry Fire District at a sparsely-attended informational session on Saturday.
They said recent staffing and restructuring changes had saved $360,000 in the past four months.
The receiver said it had not yet been determined which of the fire stations will be closed.
A bankruptcy court judge is expected to review the plan later this month.
The fire district was placed under state receivership in May 2014.
