Woman charged with kidnapping son pleads no contest

A Woonsocket woman who kidnapped her son and took him to Washington State pleaded no contest today.

37-year-old Andrea Britt was sentenced to two years probation and ordered to pay $2,000 to the amber alert program.

Britt triggered an amber alert in January of 2014 when she failed to return her 7-year-old son to his father’s custody.

Britt was ordered to have no contact with her son except as allowed by existing family court order. She must undergo domestic violence and mental health counseling.
