The family of suspected terrorist, Usaama Rahim, is now calling for the Muslim community to remain calm.

Rahim’s family has hired an attorney to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.

On Tuesday, law enforcement shot and killed Rahim when they tried to question him about a suspected plan to attack police officers. Police say Rahim aggressively threatened them with a large military-style knife.

Thursday, the family met at the sight of the shooting in Roslindale. The attorney representing them said they have no evidence that Rahim had been radicalized.

One family member, who identified herself as an aunt to Rahim, told reporters that her nephew’s death had nothing to do with radicalized religious beliefs.

The family watched the video of Rahim’s shooting with the District Attorney Thursday night but declined to comment after the viewing.

The DA’s Office says footage of the deadly confrontation will not be made public until after Rahim’s burial.
