BRISTOL – Two young Bristolians now have the special honor of being “parade queens” in the nation’s longest-running Fourth of July celebration.

Jessica Tella and Alana Martin have been crowned this year’s Miss Fourth of July and Little Miss Fourth of July, respectively.

Tella told ABC6 News she couldn’t believe she won! “It was honestly the best feeling in the world,” she said. “I was just so honored to actually be named Miss 4th of July. It’s a great feeling.”

Martin felt the same way. “I was really shocked that I got the Little Miss 4th,” she said. “I’ve loved doing all the dances and all the walks and answering all the questions.”

The judges selected them from among 27 contestants. The pageant included dancing, evening-wear and topical questions.
