Man shot near home in New Bedford

New Bedford Police are investigating an incident where a man was shot getting out of his car Sunday Morning.

On May 31^st at 4:20 a.m. a 23 year old New Bedford man was shot in the North section of the city as he was getting out of his car near his home in the area of Belleville Avenue.

The victim was shot in the left rear calf and thigh and then drove himself to St. Luke’s Hospital. His condition is unknown.

Police don’t have a suspect at this time and are asking anyone with information to call Detective Paul Fonseca at 508-991-6300 x. 135.
