Construction worker pinned by rock in Providence

A construction worker in Providence was injured after a piece of granite gave way trapping him underneath it.

It happened Wednesday morning on Parade Street, while the crew was working on a waterline.

Providence Fire officials say the man’s co-workers help stabilize the rock until they arrived to remove it.

The victim was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with minor cuts and bruises and is expected to be okay.
