Johnston man gets 3rd degree burns in bedroom fire

The Johnston Fire department responds to a fire that left one man with second and third degree burns Saturday morning.

Chief Tim McLaughlin tells ABC 6 Fire Officials responded to a fire on 6 Pine Lane around 5:00 a.m. where they found a man with second and third degree burns on his body.

The victim, whose identity was not immediately available, was transported to the hospital and his condition is unknown.

The fire started in a bedroom in the back of the single family house but did not spread anywhere else.  

Chief McLaughlin says the fire does not seem to be suspicious but the cause is under investigation.
