By Stephanie Vargas
The Pawtucket Fire department responded to a report of shots fired Saturday morning in a housing development where one person was injured.
Police say they received a call on May 16 at 2:49 a.m. to a report of shots being fired on the corner of Jenard Drive and Galego Court.
Upon arrival, Police spoke with a witness who identified Mark Cruz, 20, of Cumberland, to be the person allegedly responsible for the shooting that was the result of an argument.
They say the victim drove himself to the hospital for gunshot wounds and is in surgery but is expected to recover.
Police questioned a female who requested to go to the hospital for another medical issue not believed to be related to the shooting.
No other injuries were reported and no arrests have been made yet but Police are seeking a warrant for Cruz’s arrest.
Police say Cruz is considered armed and dangerous.
The Pawtucket Police department is asking anyone with information to call Detective Raymond Johnston at 401–727–9100.
