Amtrak service between NYC and PHI shut down due to train crash

Amtrak is running a modified service Wednesday following a train derailment in Philadelphia Tuesday night.
Service between New York and Boston, including Providence, will run as scheduled. Amtrak will also run service between Washington and Philadelphia, and Harrisburg and Philadelphia. There will be no service between New York and Philadelphia.
Northeast Regional Train 188 derailed shortly after 9 p.m. on it’s way from Washington D.C. to New York. At least six people have died and 144 people have been sent to area hospitals.
