Man suffers severe burns in Norton house fire

NORTON, Mass. (WLNE)- Firefighters from the Norton Fire Department battled a house fire where a man was severely burned on Sunday morning.

A 19-year-old man had his leg burned very badly during the fire. He was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton for further treatment.

Crews responded to the scene at the home on North Washington Street at around 9 a.m. They saw heavy smoke coming out of the home upon arrival.

Firefighters were able to get inside of the home safely and find the source of the fire in the basement.

It took about 10 minutes for the crews to extinguish the fire.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
