His brother Anthony says Kory was really into cars and he just got the bike two months ago. Anthony says he kept reminding his little brother to be careful.
Around 6:30 Friday night, Cabral was riding his motorcycle with at least one other motorcyclist on
Kelly Abelha heard the crash. She said, “Sounded like an explosion; it was very loud and I looked back and saw a cloud of white smoke and wasn’t sure until the smoke cleared and when I realized what happened. The motorcycle was on the floor and I put two and two together.”
Abelha’s husband ran over to help but, once crews arrived, Cabral was pronounced dead.
Many people I spoke to believe Cabral either hit a pot hole or tried to avoid it. There’s one in front of the curb he drove onto before crashing into a parked car.
“There are a lot of pot holes in the city, it was a bad winter. I think that they do need to be fixed if that was the cause.”
Family and friends have been stopping by the crash site leaving candles and prayers for the young man one family friend described as full of live.
“It’s just an all–around tragedy. I feel for the victim and I feel for his family.”
The brother says he hopes others will see what happened to his brother and will be more careful while riding motorcycles.
