Car with children inside crashes into Aldi supermarket in Cranston

The Cranston Fire Department responds to a vehicle accident where a car with children inside crashes into an Aldi supermarket.

The Cranston Fire Department tells ABC6 they received a call at 11:20 am on April 26 to an accident where a car had crashed into an Aldi supermarket on 1015 Cranston Street.

Upon arrival, Fire Officials discovered the car went into the building and pushed the store’s shelving 2-3 inches. Building Inspectors were called to the scene as well.

Nothing else in the store was compromised and no one inside was injured.

The driver was taken to the hospital but did not appear to suffer from major injuries. Officials were not sure if the children were also taken to the Hospital. 

The vehicle sustained slight damage from the crash and the cause is being investigated.

The name of the driver has not been released.
