PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) _ Rhode Island officials say registration is now open for a summer-long game aimed at getting children and parents outdoors and involved in more physical activity.
The state Department of Environmental Management says it’s inviting families to join the “2015 Great Outdoors Pursuit.”
Registration is free and teams are eligible to win prizes. Teams of children and adults will select events and activities from a list provided by DEM and do them on their own time.
They earn points for each “pursuit” they attend. There will be four guided pursuits led by DEM staff and their partners.
The final pursuit and grand finale will be held on Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Burlingame State Campground in Charlestown.
Teams can register online here.
