Connecticut man arrested in connection with Dartmouth stabbing

DARTMOUTH, MASS (WLNE) – Following an investigation of a stabbing, Dartmouth Police arrest a male suspect from Connecticut for involvement in a stabbing on Saturday.
At approximately 12:13 a.m, Dartmouth Police responded to the Residence Inn on Faunce Corner Road for a reported disturbance.
Police say they learned upon arrival that a 30-year-old Connecticut man had been stabbed during an earlier altercation with a co-worker.
According to police, both victim and suspect were part of a work crew staying at the hotel.
With the information they received on the scene, police learned that the suspect, now identified as 26-year-old Tyreke Brooks, of Manchester Connecticut, fled the scene prior to their arrival.
The victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries to receive further treatment.
Police say at approximately 8:21 a.m, they received information that Brooks returned to the Residence Inn.
Officers, including a Dartmouth Police K-9, returned to the hotel and took Brooks into custody without incident.
Brooks has two outstanding warrants for his arrest in addition to being charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
