East Providence man injures motorcyclist, charged with DUI

The East Providence Police department arrests a man who was driving under the influence and collided with a motorcycle leaving him seriously injured.
Lieutenant David Pacheco tells ABC6 that 34-year-old Louis Alicea, of East Providence, was driving under the influence of alcohol while driving southbound on Veterans Memorial Parkway.
Alicea turned left on Pawtucket Avenue pulling directly in front of a motorcycle traveling north on Pawtucket Avenue at 7:15 pm. The motorcyclist crashed into the side of Alicea’s car.
The operator of the motorcycle was not wearing a helmet and suffered injuries to his face and head. The injuries are non-life threatening but he is listed in serious condition.
The victim’s name has not been released.
Alicea was taken to the hospital after he complained about pain in his legs that was not related to the accident.
Alicea was arrested and is being charged with driving under the influence resulting in bodily harm and driving while intoxicated with a blood level of more than .15.
