A teen in Attleboro was rushed to the hospital after he was seriously injured by a flash burn from a power line.

The Attleboro Fire Department says that two teen boys were throwing objects at the power lines overhead along the railroad tracks on Starkey Avenue.

An electrical arc from the lines, which carry 25,000 volts of electricity, caused a flash burn, leaving third degree burns on the 13-year-old’s leg. The second teen was not injured.

Both Amtrak and the MBTA reported delays as a result of the incident.
