Task force created to decide trash removal in Fall River

 By: Liz Tufts

A new task force has been formed to figure out if the controversial pay as you throw program will stick around in Fall River.

As you remember, the program sparked protests.. and even led to the recall of former Mayor Will Flanagan.

Residents were furious when Flanagan adopted a plan forcing them to buy special trash bags if they wanted their garbage picked up. Now,  the city’s current Mayor, Sam Sutter,  is creating a new task force to see if that system should stay or should go.

The seven person team will have about six months to give the mayor their recommendations.
