A Westport man was arrested Wednesday for trying to bring a gun into the Fall River Justice Center.

Police say 42-year-old David Cosme had the gun in his jacket, which was found by security when it passed through the x-ray monitor on the conveyor.

The gun, which was later determined to be a pellet gun, was located in a secret lining of the coat.

Cosme was arrested by Fall River Police and charged with disturbing the peace while armed.

Investigators say they are confident this incident had no connection to the ongoing Aaron Hernandez trial.
