The prosecution has rested its case in the Boston Marathon Bombing trial. It was another emotional day for the jurors who saw more gruesome autopsy photos of the victims, including the youngest, 8–year–old Martin Richard. One of those pictures showed a gaping wound in his abdomen. The chief medical examiner for Massachusetts testified Martin had injuries to every part of his body.

There was also testimony from the ME who performed the autopsy on Lingzi Lu.

The prosecution has presented heart-wrenching testimony from 90 witnesses including survivors, first responders, family members, and dozens of experts. Now, the jury will have to determine if Tsarnaev is guilty of 30 counts. That could happen as early as the end of this week. 17 of those counts carry the death penalty.

Tsarnaev’s attorneys have openly admitted that their client did it, but that it was under the influence of his more radicalized older brother Tamerlan. They’ve made it clear they’re not trying to prove he’s innocent, but help him avoid the death penalty.
