Over 1,200 officers pay respects to Mass. State Trooper Tamar Bucci
REVERE, MASS. (WLNE)- Over 1,200 law enforcement officers came together on Tuesday to pay respects to Massachusetts State Trooper Tamar Bucci.
Officers lined the streets outside of Saint Anthony’s Church in Revere for Bucci’s wake.
The 34-year-old trooper died while in a crash on duty Thursday. Bucci was assisting a disabled vehicle in the breakdown lane on I-93 in Stoneham when her cruiser was struck by a tanker truck.
“From deep in our hearts we thank all law enforcement officers and members of the public who paid respects to Trooper Tamar Bucci today. Some 1,200 officers, half of them MSP Troopers, took part in the walk-by, and several hundred citizens came to offer condolences,” says Massachusetts State Police.
Trooper Bucci had been on the department for two years, and was assigned to State Police-Medford at the time of her line of duty death.
Family, friends, and law enforcement officers are expected to fill St. Anthony’s Church again on Wednesday to pay their final respects to Bucci.
