Two injured in South Kingstown car accident

South Kingstown Police are investigating after a two-car crash on South County Trail that sent two people to the hospital.
It happened at about 6:51 p.m. when police reported to the area of Liberty Lane and located two severely damaged vehicles.
Police say both operators were injured and had to be extricated from their vehicles.
A 57-year-old female from Richmond was transported to Rhode Island Hospital by LifeStar helicopter. The second operator, a 21-year-old female from Warwick, was also transported to Rhode Island Hospital.
The crash is still under investigation. Police believe alcohol may have been a contributing factor.
