Garage fire damages home, vehicles in Fairhaven

The Fairhaven Fire Department is investigating after a fire destroyed the garage of a home on Magnolia Avenue, as well damaging the home and vehicles.
Crews were dispatched around 11 a.m. Thursday and discovered a 20×20 detached garage in flames, which then spread to the home.
Several residents were home at the time of the fire but no injuries were reported.
Two vehicles and a boat at the residence also caught fire and sustained damage. Officials estimate the cost of damage to be about $75,000.
Fairhaven received mutual aid from Acushnet, New Bedford, and Mattapoisett. The cause is still under investigation.
