Victim in East Providence crash identified

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – State police have identified the driver killed in a crash in East Providence Monday night.

It happened around 9:15 at night on 195 eastbound just before exit 7.

Police say a car driven by 25-year-old Victor Pereira of Seekonk collided with a water tanker truck near exit 6 which caused major delays.

Pereira was transported to Rhode Island Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No one else involved in the crash was injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
