Officer wounded, suspect dead in Boston shootout

The shootout happened shortly after 6:30 p.m. Friday in the city’s Roxbury section.
City Police Commissioner William Evans says the wounded officer, identified as 34-year-old Officer John. T. Moynihan, was shot just below his right eye and is in critical condition in an induced coma at
Evans says the suspect died at the scene, and a middle-age woman suffered a flesh wound to her arm.
Evans says two other officers were brought to a hospital with stress-related problems.
The commissioner says Moynihan, a six year veteran of the Boston Police Department, is on the police Youth Violence Task Force and is a highly decorated military veteran.
