Single-family, multi-family home sales increased last month

Sales of single-family homes in Rhode Island were up 14 percent last month compared to February 2014.
The Rhode Island Association of Realtors announced Thursday that 480 single-family homes were sold in February, up from 421 in the year-ago month.
The association says the median price of single-family homes sold last month increased as well, up from $185,000 to $194,500 year over year.
The number of multi-family homes sold last month increased slightly, from 83 in February 2014 to 84 last month. The median price of multi-family homes sold also increased, from $139,000 to $150,500.
However, the number of condominiums sold last month decreased, down to 68 from 74 in February 2014. The median price also dropped to $180,500 from $185,000.
