Two months after a Westport car dealership made headlines for bullying a pizza delivery driver over a tip, they’re in the news again. Though, this time though under much different circumstances.
The owner and an employee of F&R Auto Sales are facing criminal charges accused of threatening a customer.
“She had told us that comments were made that they would punch her in the face. And then they made a sexual inappropriate comment to her. And, then they called her house repeatedly in her words to try and make her go away,” said Westport Police Detective Jeffrey Majewski.
Police say the woman bought a car from the dealership that failed to pass a safety inspection. That woman says that when she tried to return the car she was harassed.
Owner Francis Correiro and employee Mark Dambrosca are charged with threats to do bodily harm and intimidation of a witness.
Detective Majewski says this is far from the only complaint they have received about the dealership. In fact, over the past 12 months they’ve gotten 26 including allegations of forging car documents.
“These calls included angry customers, customers who said that the store employees made threats against them,” said Majewski.
F& R Auto Sales declined to comment about these latest accusations when we reached out to them.
